The 2009 Newstead 5K run / 2M walk / kid’s fun run will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2009.  Watch this site for more info as it becomes available.

Despite dire weather forecasts and a lot of nail biting, the 2008 Newstead 5K went off without a hitch and a good time was had by all.  Thanks to all who participated. 

Our male and female winners were:

Marc Belasco, age 37, from South Orange with a time of 16:29 and

Brittany Day, age 12(!) from Haworth with a time of 19:44.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers, course marshalls, the village of South Orange, the recreation department, the police and the residents of Newstead for their hospitality.

In case you are wondering, the race is on rain or shine.  Let’s hope for the best!

Most people park on Glenview Rd. off South Orange Avenue.  The police will let you in to park.  If you are in the neighborhood and don’t need to drive to the start, please leave your car at home

Packet pick-up is at Sneaker Factory 308 Millburn Ave., Millburn, NJ 

Store hours are generally 10am - 6pm but call to make sure at 973-376-6094.

Packets can also be picked up on race day. Registration is open at 8am. Rain or Shine.
