386 participated in the largest turnout of its 7 year history!
Hundreds more volunteered and cheered the participants on a beautiful Saturday morning through the Newstead neighborhood of South Orange.
The event was a huge success and will benefit the South Orange Maplewood Education Foundation (SOMEF).

After a successful partnership in 2008, the Newstead 5K team is pleased and honored to announce that we have permanently been “adopted” by the South Orange Maplewood Education Foundation (SOMEF). The race has been renamed the Newstead 5K for SOMEF. We look forward to many successful future races.

Most people park on Glenview Rd. off South Orange Avenue. The police will let you in to park. If you are in the neighborhood and don’t need to drive to the start, please leave your car at home
